5 Ways to Grow Long Hair Really Fast

1) Use a Hydrating Hair Mask Weekly
A rinse-out conditioner adds moisture to hair but may not be enough to allow it to withstand constant styling and heat damage. Also, frequent coloring leaves hair dry, brittle, and in need of extra nourishment. “Applying a hair treatment that contains hydrating ingredients to help maintain as well as restore hair’s internal structure and elasticity will prevent breakage so that your hair can grow,” says Kevin Mancuso, creative director at Nexxus New York Salon Care, who recommends allowing a mask to soak into hair for three to five minutes before rinsing.
2) Be Gentle When Brushing
Roughly brushing through strands — wet or dry — can lead to microscopic tears on hair. Lona Vigi, celebrity stylist with Nexxus New York Salon Care, suggests using a natural boar bristle brush to gently comb through hair, working from the ends up to minimize breakage. “Be extra cautious of the fragile fine hairs that frame your face, which tend to be heavily heat styled and dyed and therefore are more prone to breakage,” says Vigi. “And help prevent damage before it starts by regularly caring for hair with a strengthening hair treatment.”
